Paisley Passion Embroidery – FREE Pattern!

Today is the official launch of my new Passionflower thread collection on the Aurifil blog, and to celebrate I have designed a new embroidery pattern which you can download for FREE!

I wrote about my Passionflower thread box in this post here. It contains 10 x 12wt spools in the beautiful shades I used for my Passionflower embroidery.

The Passionflower Pattern is available in the Embroiderer’s Guild ‘Stitch’ magazine. As this is a quarterly publication you can still buy it for another couple of months.

We’ve also re-stocked the thread collection box at myBearpaw and if you are in the UK you can purchase a box here, or in our Edinburgh store.  You can still use the special discount code stitchpassion10 to get 10% off at checkout (both on line and in person).  If you are elsewhere in the world please ask your local Aurifil dealer to stock the box for you!

The new design is called Paisley Passion and I started it as soon as I got my hands on my new box! I just couldn’t wait to open all those yummy threads.

We also had a launch for the collection on the Aurifil stand at Festival of Quilts last month and I gave a demo for a few of the stitches required for both the Passionflower and the new Paisley design.  You can watch this again on the Aurifil Facebook page here.

Meanwhile I have been using my new threads for all sorts of hand quilting like my latest Siddi inspired

class sample and my Ombre Sunset Clamshells piece which is destined to become a cushion (and hopefully get it’s very own post once completed!).

The 12wt works so perfectly for hand quilting!

There is a wonderful interview all about my favourite things, my new collection and these projects on the Auribuzz blog here today.  And here is a link to download the FREE pattern for the Paisley Passion embroidery. You can also enter a giveaway at the bottom of the post to win one of the Passionflower boxes!

It’s pretty quick to do even if you are quite new to embroidery and would work in stranded threads too if you already have some.

I do hope you have a go, and if you finish it then send me a photo or tag me on Instagram!

  1. Hello,
I failed to find the link for the free pattern in your blog. If a pattern is in a magazine it is not free. The magazine must be purchased.
As I cannot get Stitch where I live in Asia (no I cannot order it in – it will be lost (politely read stolen) before it comes to me), I was disappointed in your heading.

  2. Ta for the , Margaret McDonald. I have just downloaded the pattern and am now sorting threads.
My sincere apologies to Jo for not understanding the system for the download.

    1. No worries Kumiko! Pleased you found it with the help of Margaret. I will probably move the link to my blog post soon, once everyone has had a chance to view the Aurifil launch post (which is what I had designed it for initially). Enjoy stitching!
