The Stitch Gathering Report!

Phew! What a day! I think I can safely say that it went very well and everyone had a lot of fun – I know I did!
So I am just going to let the pictures do the talking here. First up is a video that our resident paparazzi (Jonathan) filmed of the ‘meet and greet’ reception just as I asked everyone to find their nametag swap partner!

This is my first class – Cathedral Window Pincushion. Everyone seems very busy here except for me and my sister Jane, who are yakking away at the back!

Here’s Sheila’s Easy Crazy Patchwork class in full swing.

More CWP with a close up of (from left) Vanessa, Sasha, Lynz and Dolores (who came all the way from Virginia USA!), all hard at work.

And this is what happened to all those Stitch Gathering fabric tickets we sent out! Aren’t they totally amazing!!? More on these in a separate post later.

This is Julie’s Patchwork Bib class – everyone is look so well behaved!

And here they all are with their finished bibs – well done ladies and well done Julie!

The fabulous lunch spread!

The Lucky Dip! Roll-up, Roll-up! Everyone gets a prize, some big, some small. I think this was one of my favourite bits of the day, it was my idea and a bit of a surprise as I didn’t tell anyone about it, but it totally brought the child out in everyone. Look how everyone has formed an orderly queue!

A very small part, but the highlight for me, of the Show and Tell. This is Lynz’s finished Around the Bend and Across the Pond Round Robin quilt, held up by Dolores and me. It is stunning!

Anne and Fiona studying the tickets.

More Show and Tell, Emily’s gorgeous Grandmother’s Flower Garden patchwork which she started after attending one of my classes 18 months ago, I love the way it looks against the light.

And this is Fiona’s Jelly Roll class in the afternoon. Lots more pics on Flickr and Facebook and more videos on our website.
Don’t miss my next post when I will be showing you all the delights of our Goody Bag and GIVING AWAY one last bag that I have saved for all of you lot who couldn’t join us!!

  1. I had an absolutely brilliant day. Could have done without being papped by Jonathan (double chins and a concentrating scowl – thanks pal! *g*) but since I took NO photos it's lovely to see them. Can I nick one or two for my own post? I'm trying to finish my projects first! !

  2. Jo it looks like a brilliant success – well done. I'd love to hear more about it, I'm thinking that as a smaller event than FQretreat it might be more fun, less people to talk to and more quality time…

  3. Well done Jo, you should be feeling very chuffed. I assume you're happy with me nicking photos too…..let me know if not, I'll be trying to publish a post later but can always stop it! Juliex

  6. This looks like so much fun. I would love to have attended the cathedral windows class in particular, learning how to make them is on my to do list.

  7. Oh I wish I had been there! What fun you had, and the lucky dip idea was just so fabulous, how lovely that everyone got a prize. It looks like Julie's class was a great success and what gorgeous show and tell quilts there were. I'd love to be there next year! Xx
