Getting Ready For Christmas

Things have got a little quieter around here as we get ready for Christmas. I love this time of year when work sewing slows down and I get a little playtime in the Schoolhouse. I’ve been neglecting my bird applique patterns for a while now. Every year I think I’ll get more than one new

We had some wonderful entries for the SG Blend Fabrics Competition, thank you so much to everyone who took the trouble to make something and enter! It was very hard for us judges to decide. I was ably assistant by my two partners in quilty crime, Karen Lewis and Lynne Goldsworthy. In the end we

Porthole Pirates Quilt

This was a lovely fun quilt to make with the most adorable fabric. It’s my third quilt for Today’s Quilter, in issue 6 which is out now. And I really enjoyed making a quilt for a child for a change. I love that cover quilt by TQ regular’s Pam and Nicky Lintott.  And the eagle eyed

Yesterday we did Christmas Angels and had a lovely day creating pretty handmade ‘dollies with wings’. Here is the angel I made along with the rest of the class. Her name

Easy Tote Bag Tutorial

For a while now I’ve had this gorgeous ‘Made for Adventure’ panel of Cori Dantini’s (from her The Sweet Life collection) and have been meaning to do something with it. Recently we put our remaining stock of these panels in our summer sale and I decided it would be a good time to finally make

Finished Hello World pillow

It’s been a bit quiet in the sewing room recently as I have been busy with our shop move. But I did manage to finish the Hello World pillow for Blend Fabrics. And as I have all my quilts at home at the moment (usually they are hanging on the walls of the craft studio)
