Jo Avery – the Blog

Finished Hello World pillow

It’s been a bit quiet in the sewing room recently as I have been busy with our shop move. But I did manage to finish the Hello World pillow for Blend Fabrics.

And as I have all my quilts at home at the moment (usually they are hanging on the walls of the craft studio) I thought I would photograph it in the sun on top of my Petal Porthole Quilt. The pastel tones seemed to work well together.

I added plenty of hand quilting in different coloured perle cottons, including that little New York Beauty in the centre (it just looked too empty).

I used more of the gorgeous Mini Menagerie panel for the back.

So now this pillow cover will get packed up and mailed off to Blend Fabrics, and some lucky people will get to see it in person at Quilt Market in May!

Here’s a link to an earlier post about this project. Simon seems to like it anyway!

We are about to take possession of our new store and should be open in around 2 weeks (hopefully). Meanwhile we just launched our Spring Term Prospectus on our all NEW WEBSITE!

Yes we are now totally myBearpaw!
Basically this blog hasn’t taken over the whole business, bwahaha!
We have lots of plans for the website and once we get settled in the new premises we will be adding plenty of new products.
But if you fancy coming along to one of my classes we have an Early Bird offer running till midnight on Sunday. Just enter the discount code springchicken at checkout to get 10% off all classes!

  1. The cushion is so pretty, the hand stitching really makes it sing. I adore the quilt it is sitting on too, especially as I can see lots of Flea Market Fancy fabric. Good luck with the store. x
