Mini Swatch Quilt

A while back when I was surfing through some quilty websites I saw a thumbnail of what I thought was a stunning modern quilt. But on closer inspection it turned out to be some swatches of fabric washi-taped to a wall.
So this got me thinking…

…wouldn’t that make a cool little quilt?
So I made this mini quilt a few weeks back.
It was quick and easy to make and a great way to show off your precious fabrics, like the yellow Circa fabric in the middle (my current favourite fabric) or that purple Japanese fabric below.

I’d never quilted a grid pattern before – but I love it on this!

I am dying to make more of these, maybe one on a dark background? Or monochrome prints on a red background? I would also love to try out a full sized one soon too.

Meanwhile this one is going to be up for sale at our Quilt Exhibition which starts a week today – yikes!!

  1. Great idea, what a lovely way to showcase all your favourite fabrics! Glad to hear you've still got time for sewing what with all preparations going on at the moment 🙂 Looking forward to seeing your next project! xx
