2018 in quilts

It’s time for my annual look back at the quilts I made in 2018.

Last year I managed to fill a 16 square mosaic with my 2017 quilts so it appears I’ve been slacking a bit this year!

In reality I have actually been much more productive than this but alas I can not show you the results of this at the present time.  I am pretty pleased with each of these quilts though – they are all large (apart from the centre Flower Bowl Wall Hanging) and colourful, but with a real mix of styles from minimalist modern to detailed and more traditional.

I did make a few more smaller quilts but I decided to keep the mosaic to just these major projects (and no, that has nothing to do with the new layout app on my phone having a 9 square maximum 😉 !).

You can read last year’s post here. Meanwhile I am not going to make any plans or resolutions for 2019.  I don’t know whether it is my age or just the state of the world but I have never felt so pessimistic about the future of the human race as I do at the moment, so I will simply bless every day we are all still here and think myself lucky.

Happy New Year everyone!

  1. You have an amazing and beautiful skill that you work hard to share with the world. You’re making the world a brighter and more positive place one post at a time, keep going! Thank you! Here’s to a happy and healthy 2019.

  2. The quilts are lovely and showcase your talent so well. I have to say though that my favourite pieces you did are the smaller projects, especially the improv houses and tendril pouches. Wishing you a year of happiness and no drama. x

  3. So inspiring Jo!!
You and your family are such positive forces, yes, there are lots of numpties and downright dangerous people in the big world, but we can only hope to influence those in our own small world and hope the ripples spread outward. You guys certainly do that in spades!! I agree with the sentiments expressed by Kay and Zoe and look forward to spending more time in your beautiful My Bearpaw space. You have created a safe, inspiring, secure environment for so many of us, as well as all the fantastic projects you have shared with us. I hope for much love, happiness, peace and fulfilment for you and yours – including Jane!! Xx
