Magazine News
I’m just catching my breath after a very busy October and popping in to share some news.
Last week I was in Houston at Quilt Market and Quilt Festival, What an intense whirlwind that was! If you want to check out the photos I took of some of the incredible quilts I saw check out my Instagram feed here.
Meanwhile I have exciting news! I am the new monthly columnist for Today’s Quilter magazine! For the next 13 months I will be sharing my thoughts on quilting in ‘Jo Avery’s Creative Corner’!!
Issue 55 includes my first column and is available in the UK now. I absolutely love writing and always have lots to say. I also get to do some wee drawings here too as we are going for a scrapbook type of look. This first month is all about colour theory and is based on my lecture and workshop. I really hope you all enjoy reading my thoughts! I have so many interesting subjects to share with over the next year…
After quite a long break I have a new quilt in Love Patchwork and Quilting magazine this month
Introducing Silver Linings, a modern quilt with a subtle palette of wintery solids made exclusively with Cotton Supreme Solids by RJR Fabrics.
All that negative space meant I had to choose an impactful FMQ design and so I went for one of my absolute favourites, the ‘interlocking rainbows’ which is also quick and fun to do.
This quilt is made with a mixture of HST and Flying Geese and I think it would work with so many different interiors. You can get the pattern in Love Patchwork and Quilting issue 80, which is also out now!
I saw your interview with Ricki Tims. This was my first time meeting you so I just had to visit your blog. There are lots of interesting projects, and I love your needlework.
