Medallion Quarter Pattern Launch and QuiltCon Schedule

My pattern releases are like buses, you wait ages for one then 5 come along at once! And here’s the latest, launching today, my Medallion Quarter Quilt pattern!

I designed this mini quilt around a gorgeous bundle of Oakshott fabric that I curated specially and wrote about it in this post last month.

This bold modern quilt is a mixture of FPP, needle turn applique and regular piecing. The pdf pattern is £5, click here to buy. You can also buy the fat 1/8th bundle I used to make this quilt direct from Oakshott here.

As with the bird patterns I have set up a special introductory discount code to get 20% off the Medallion Quarter pattern this weekend, offer ends midnight Sunday. Just use coupon code quartercut at checkout!

All my patterns will be available to by as paper versions from my website by the end of February.

Meanwhile Morris Textiles will also be stocking the paper patterns at QuiltCon next week in their booth #309. Sarah Ashford and I can be found helping out on the stand during the show as well as demoing various specialities at set times. Here’s my full schedule including book signings on my publishers stand:

I hope to see you there, please stop by and say hi even if you don’t want to buy anything!

My book, New Patchwork and Quilting Basics is now in stock in the UK and beyond!

I have just received the first stock of books for myBearpaw store in Edinburgh and my website. You can buy a signed copy from my website here for £19.99 including P&P or pop into the shop from today where unsigned copies will cost you £17.99.  Meanwhile if you have ordered the book elsewhere they should start arriving imminently!

I am very excited to see my book finally in the hands of readers! If you’d like to read more about the book check out the blog post I wrote on the C&T Publishing blog here.

I  will be hosting a book tour on blogs and Instagram which starts on the 1st March.  I’ve got a whole host of talented friends involved and I can’t wait to see what they have to share with us all. More on this soon!

If you are in the Edinburgh area why not come along to my official launch and lecture evening hosted by the Edinburgh Modern Quilt Guild?

I will be sharing a new lecture I’ve prepared especially for this evening. Find out about the process of writing a quilt book, from conception to promotion, and the daily life and times of a quilting professional and serial entrepreneur in this entertaining and illuminating talk.

I will be bringing all but one of the book quilts to show, alongside other recent work, and will be selling and signing books on the night.  Refreshments will be provided.  The event is on Friday 3rd April, 7pm – 9pm, Eric Liddell Centre, EH10.

  1. Love it SO!

I have a question about it; do you need any special rulers or tools to make it beyond a rotary cutter and cutting mat?
