Scottish Modern Quilt Exhibition

For those of you who can’t make it along to our Scottish Modern Quilt Exhibition I thought I would share these photos that my husband, Jonathan, took after he had finished the mammoth task of hanging them on Friday (thanks Jonathan!). I took the last 3 to highlight particular things he had missed. This is

Mini Randoms

A few months back I made this mini spool quilt with leftover sample blocks from my Modern Patchwork Techniques 1 and 2 evening classes. As I am doing a new ‘Modern Sampler’ class this year I can use all my old class samples up (something I have been dying to do since I made them!).

Tumbling Logs Quilt

I’ve always wanted to make a Tumbler quilt. I loved the simplicity of the design, but then again, I thought it almost looked too simple to maintain my interest for a full sized quilt. And then I wondered what it would look like if I ‘log cabined’ around it. A light bulb went on in

Mini Swatch Quilt

A while back when I was surfing through some quilty websites I saw a thumbnail of what I thought was a stunning modern quilt. But on closer inspection it turned out to be some swatches of fabric washi-taped to a wall. So this got me thinking… …wouldn’t that make a cool little quilt? So I

Garden Shed Wallhanging

Click here for your FREE Pattern/Tutorial I had such a lovely time playing with my new Cori Dantini line ‘The Sweet Life’ by Blend Fabrics, and here is the result! I love Cori’s illustrations and when I saw these garden themed ladies for some reason I wanted to put each of them in their own

Hansel and Gretel Quilt

I’ve made another Fairytale Quilt. You may remember the 2 Red Riding Hood quilts and a 3 Little Pig quilt that I made previously. Well this time it is Hansel and Gretel! Christina, the lovely lady who commissioned the second Red Riding Hood quilt has also commissioned this one. The first one was for her

Little Scrappy Trip Quilt

I am at home all week working on new Bearpaw craft classes for the Autumn which will get announced in a week or so (no pressure then!). Phew, being creative all day is really hard work! And stressful! I’ll be glad to get back to the shop. So there will be lots to show you

Bloggers Quilt Festival Spring 2013

Phew I just made it!  Yes, I have just snuck in to the Blogger’s Quilt Festival Spring 2013 on the last day! Thanks so much to Amy for hosting one of my favourite events in the quilting year. Usually I am right there at the front of the queue but this year I was waiting

Spool Block Mini Quilt

This spool block is part of my Modern Patchwork Techniques 2 evening class. It’s probably the easiest week of the course. I made a block as an initial sample, then another in the class, and then we did the course again a few months back and I made another. And I thought, if I just
