Swatches Quilt 2.0
I have this other little project in Love Patchwork and Quilting magazine this month (issue 9) – the Swatches Quilt.
This is a version of this mini quilt…
…which I made last summer. You can read about how I came up with the idea here.
I always thought it was a neat concept and so I was pleased when the magazine agreed and asked me to make a version for them.
I’ve improved it a bit by making the borders bigger, and I think the Essex Yarn Dyed in Flax that I used for the background works much better than the Kona Snow of the original.
I just think this is such a great way to show off some favourite fabrics, and it’s a nice quick easy project.
I took this photo in the middle of making it. The sun shining through the windows of my sewing room made such a pretty effect.
I do love the Essex…great switch!
This would be fun as a bigger quilt too…great job picking fabrics that fool the eye where they are cut at the top!
I like the pattern and it is a great way of savouring your favourite prints. Di x
They are both lovely Jo! A great way to showcase some of your favourite fabrics 🙂
Hadn't thought of it as a showcase for favourites, but of course, you are so right.
I love this!!
