Compass Spin Quilt

I’ve waited such a long time to share this quilt with you!  My Compass Spin quilt was finished last September, but due to the vagaries of magazine publishing it is only just being published today! It’s a simple version of a traditional compass block made from Denyse Schmidt’s Washington Depot collection by Free Spirit Fabrics.

Flower Bowl Wall Hanging

What a week it’s been for weather! Almost all of the UK has been in the grip of the ‘Beast from the East’ and Shangri la Farm is buried under a deep blanket of snow.  I have had to cancel all my classes even for tomorrow and the supermarkets look like the zombie apocolypse has

Siddi Inspired Cushion

During my trip to QuiltCon Savannah earlier this year I attended a fascinating lecture by the wonderful Shruti Dandekar on Indian quilting, specifically Siddi and Godhadi quilts.  I was especially taken by the quilts made by members of the Siddi community of Southern India. The Siddi people are descendants of African slaves brought to Goa

Argyle Chain Quilt

I’ve been through a bit of a manic phase in the last few weeks, no time to blog and nothing to show anyway as I have been sewing magazine commissions like crazy! I’m just about through a bit of a backlog (phew!) and have a quilt in the latest issue of Today’s Quilter to share

Tendrils quilt

It’s a long time since I made a quilt with Kaffe Fassett fabric and I had forgotten what an uplifting joyful experience it can be! This quilt was destined for the issue of Today’s Quilter that coincides with Festival of Quilts so it always need to be a bit of a showstopper. And what better
