Exciting and Important News!
I have been dying to tell you about this for a while now and at last I can!
I am organising a quilt retreat in Edinburgh!
I started seriously thinking about this last year but it didn’t start coming together till my workmate, Sarah, came up with the idea of a quilt exhibition at our shop during the Edinburgh Festival (to make the most of the tourists!).
So we are going to mount a Scottish Modern Quilt exhibition here at Avery Homestore during August. And as that was going to involve all my Scottish blogging buddies…
(that’s these girls who came along to the Sewing Sunday I hosted last summer)
…I knew that this would be the perfect time to host a retreat too! My plan is for a smaller, cosier version of FQ Retreat, over just one day, and more accessible to everyone in Scotland and the North of England.
So that’s what we are going to do! Head on over to this (very new!) webpage for more details. And if you think you might be even the tiniest bit interested you can do a ‘sign-up’ and we will keep you posted with more information, like who will be teaching and when tickets are released (around Mid- March).
I really hope some of my lovely readers will want to come and play in Edinburgh! Of course you don’t have to be just from Scotland and the North of England, you can travel from anywhere to join us!
Oh, that sounds exciting. I would love to come too but that will be around the time that we're moving to Switzerland. I hope you all have a great time!
Yay Jo. So good to see it in print! Hope the show goes well this weekend. Juliex
Skippety, skippety skip!! Hurray, public at last! Can I get a "squeee!"?
I'd love to come as I know some of those faces (and I noticed the wine!) but it's a bit far from the Czech Republic! I'll have to enjoy it vicariously from afar!
I'm scottish but live in england, does that count? 😉
Yay! I'm totally over-excited!
Cant wait!
Sounds wonderful!
Oh wow that's great news, it sounds brilliant!
What a wonderful idea – I can feel the relief of those who have been keeping secrets from here!!
I might be free that weekend ;o) And Hadley's a smart woman (but don't tell her I said that…)
Great to meet you yesterday at Edinburgh! Looking forward to August – I really hope I can make it!
i signed up to keep in the loop even if it is a faint hope
Brilliant idea – I really hope it's a huge success (am sure it will be!).
Jo – can you let me know if there are any family short holiday lets nearby that you know of. Would love to get a little self catering place for the weekend.
